NEHA 4th of July Parade

July 4, 2000

03a.jpg (40404 bytes) The parade is rumored to be 40 years old this year.
Complete with a band (participants bring instruments and "practice" together for about 15 minutes), the parade is comprised of neighborhood members. The event is always well received by participants and those who just enjoy watching.

Parading Our Neighborhood

THANKS! To bandleader Mary Lou Wood and the musical volunteers who kept the beat. To Deputy Sheriff Larry Logsdon who led the parade in style. To the traffic-control volunteers who worked hard to ensure the safety of all the marchers. To Jack Evans and many volunteers who distributed flyers and placed flags on our lawns. To George Koorsen, who donated all the bouncy helium balloons. To refreshment volunteers, Ann Midkiff, Walter Atwell, Al Llewellyn, Gloria Olson, Vanessa Dickerson, Yanna Saunders and Diane Snow and her family. To the Snows who donated their yard and helped with the final festivities. To Mike Smith, who alerted WISH-TV about our great neighborhood and parade and got us on TV. To Holly Settles, and her husband, Jason, who took parade photos and put them on the web. And to Mary and Mark Grove for pulling it all together as chairs of an exceptional Northern Estates 4th of July Parade--the biggest ever.
