| June 11, 2007 | At approximately 9PM a stranger wheeled out from behind an large idle DPW vehicle that had been left in the neighborhood; the stranger was estimated to be 35 to 40 years old and was on a small wheeled sport bicycle with high handlebars. The stranger stared at a young daughter of Mark and Annie Norton who was walking nearby. The daughter ran into her home at 3240 Melbourne Road S Drive. Her brother and father came out an observed a man wearing a blue bandana with boomerang figures. He wore a gray muscle T-shirt and cargo pants with lots of pockets. He had a full length beard. When he saw the men, he sped away. Mark called Larry Logsdon. Larry reported the incident to the Northwest Precinct. If you see a man of this discription loitering in the neighborhood please call 911 and call Larry Logsdon. |
| March 15, 2007 | A car was used to burglarize a neighbor on Lancelot Drive at 2:40 pm today, March 14. The house was broken into - front door frame was broken. The car was a light, baby blue sedan with 3 young black men, one wearing a red/white shirt. They took a computer and large TV. I called the police and they were here in 5 minutes. The officer said there have been a rash of burglaries 44th-46th and Sylvan/Lincoln last week. They usually knock on the front door and ask for someone, if no one answers they break down the front door. Please advise neighbors to write down the serial numbers of any major appliances and keep that in a safe place. Please advise neighbors to call 911 for any suspicious vehicles or people in the area. I would be happy to be in contact with other neighborhood Crime Watch Coordinators in the area on the West side of Kessler. |
| January 15, 2007 | Sometime during the week of January 14 (probably 16 or 17) the home of
Ken & Mary Jane Eiler, 4301 Lincoln Road was broken into. They had
just left that weekend for 5 weeks in Florida, but only got to be away
5 days. Their daughter came by on Wed to check on things, found the
front door (frame and all) kicked in, the refrigerator, freezer and all
kitchen cabinets were open. Drawers were open and some emptied and
even the mattress' had been disturbed. All that was taken, that they
are aware of at this time, was some jewelry, which did had value both
in money and sentimental.
They are meeting with Larry Logsdon, have had the sheriff and their
insurance to get the repair work done. Let's all remember to be aware of the comings and goings at the neighbor, particularly when we know they are away. |
| December 05, 2006 | Breaking and Entering 12/5/06 11:45 a.m. at 3325 W. 46th St., Indianapolis, IN. Mike from Address 3524 Wentworth Dr, Indianapolis, In 46228 and two Black Guys broke the window in the back door and broke into our home. Jim Morrison , our son, came home from Spanish Class at Marian College, came into the house and found Mike and two others in the process of removing items from the house. They had packed the Xbox and games from the living room. Jim forced them to give him back the Xbox and some games. In checking upstairs, they also took some Sega Games from Jim's room and went through boxes of Comics . Jim chased the three guys down the street to get to return some of the items. They also went through the house, looking for other things, but did not have time to get major things. We are waiting for the detectives from MCSD who might recover the games when they pick up Mike and the others. |

Nov 30, 2006 6:33 AM EST Indianapolis - Officers are working the scene of a police chase and shooting just north of downtown. Just after 5 a.m. Thursday, an IPD officer was performing a routine traffic traffic stop at 30th and Cold Spring. The suspect never stopped, prompting a chase. The man finally pulled over on White River Parkway East Drive. That's when the officer got out of the car to approach the suspect. The suspect then fired six or seven rounds from a pistol at the officer. There was also an AK-47 in the car. The chase continued, finally coming to a close when a specially trained officer bumped the car from behind causing the suspect to crash at Kessler and 38th Street. No one was injured and the chase is still under investigation. |

| April 1, 2002 | A resident, just off the corner of Manning and Brisbane, called US Postal authorities because all the mailboxes on Manning were opened. It appears that some mail had been taken out. Postal police will be investigating. Postal authorities recommend NOT raising the flag if you put outgoing mail in the box. Most people get mail everyday so the delivery man will pick up the outgoing mail. |
